VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE - 2013)

VIT University invited applicaiton for B. Tech. Programmes.


 ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
1 Nationality: 


The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National.
2 Qualifying Examination: 
Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2013 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2013, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:
The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi); The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).
Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) Level.
Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply. 

3 Eligibility Criteria in the Qualifying Examination: 
Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2013 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate). 
The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the following categories: 
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category
Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. 
Candidates who have attempted Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the VITEEE are eligible for all the 14 B.Tech. Degree Programmes.
Candidates who have attempted Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the VITEEE are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical Engineering and Biotechnology programmes.
4 Age Limit:
Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1991 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2013. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate /Birth proof certificate will be considered authentic.

VIT Engineering Entrance Examination – Computer Based Test (CBT) will be held from 15th April to 30th April 2013
The duration of the entrance examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.

3.2 Pattern of the Entrance Examination 
 Question Paper: All Questions will be of OBJECTIVE TYPE

PART-I – Physics / PART-II – Chemistry / PART-III – Mathematics or Biology
Candidates attempting Parts-Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics are eligible for all the 14 B.Tech. programmes
Candidates attempting Parts-Physics, Chemistry & Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical Engineering and Biotechnology programmes only.
The selection of pattern (Physics/ Chemistry /Mathematics or Biology) has to be decided at the time of slot booking (March 2013).
All the questions will be mostly from the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus only.
The syllabus for the Entrance Examination is given in APPENDIX-IV of Information Brochure.
Each part has 40 questions and each question carries one mark.
Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. The candidate will have to choose the correct answer and click the same.
No negative marks for wrong answers.
3 Language 
The Question paper will be only in English.

NDA I 2013 - National Defence Academy

About NDA
The National Defence Academy is a Joint Services academy of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force are trained together before they go on to pre-commissioning training to their respective service academies. It is located in Khadakwasla near Pune, Maharashtra.It was the 1st tri-service academy in the world and is rated amongst the best in the world..

Applicants to the NDA are selected via a written exam conducted by the UPSC, followed by extensive interviews covering general aptitude, psychological testing, team skills as well as physical and social skills, along with medical tests. Incoming classes are accepted twice a year for semesters starting in July and January. 
Cadets who are accepted and successfully complete the program, are sent to their respective training academies for receiving 1 year training before granting of commission, army cadets go to IMA at Dehradun while airforce cadets to AFA at Dundigal, Hyderabad and naval cadets to INA, Ezhimala,Kerala. 

National Defence Academy Examination (I) – NDA 2013 Exam Date : 7th April, 2013

NDA Exam Eligibility 2013
I. Nationality : A candidate must either be :
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

2. Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status : Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1994 and not later than 1st July, 1996 are eligible. The date of birth accepted by the Union Public Service Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognised by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University which must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificates. These certificates are required to be submitted only after the declaration of the result of the written part of the NDA Entrance examination. No other document relating to age like horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from Municipal Corporation, service records and the like will be accepted. The expression Matriculation / Higher Secondary Examination Certificate in this part of the instruction includes the alternative certificates mentioned above.

3. Educational Qualifications :
For Army wing of National Defence Academy : 12th class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy : 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for National Defence Academy examination.

4. Physical Standards : Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2013 as per guidelines given in Appendix-IV.

A candidate who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the NDA training academies of Armed forces is not eligible to apply.

Candidates are required to apply NDA Entrance Exam Online 2013 using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in/. Detailed instructions for filling up online applications 2013 for NDA Exam are available on the above mentioned website.

Fee: Candidates (excepting SC/ST candidates/sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs 50/- (Rs Fifty only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur/Sate Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala /State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
or

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
or

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
or

A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
or

3 or 4-years diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
Eligibility for Bachelor Programme - Technology Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) (B.FTech.)

The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri- Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
or

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

(Design Space is an advanced course that demands an understanding of fundamentals in design and presupposes that candidates would be familiar with the basic skills and theories for successful completion of the programme. M.Des. would not provide any basic knowledge and skill development in design as a part of Master programme. The programme provides an option to students to earn final semester credits through ‘Course Work’ or ‘Dissertation’).
Eligibility for Master Programme - Management M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management)

Undergraduate Degree from any Institute / University recognised by law in India. or • Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.
Eligibility for Master Programme - Technology M.F.Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology)

B.F.Tech. from NIFT
or

B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognised by law in India.
IMPORTANT NOTE

1. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply provided:

(a) That they produce a proof of having acquired minimum prescribed qualifications at the time of counselling/admission. or
(b) If the 12th class/final year/final semester (as the case may be) result of qualifying degree/certificate examination is not declared by the concerned Board/University till the date of counselling/admission, his/her admission in that case will be strictly provisional subject to the following conditions:
(i) Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- in the prescribed Proforma (please see Annexure –II) is submitted. In case the candidate is minor i.e. below 18 years of age, the affidavit shall be signed by his/her parent/guardian. Candidates/ parent /guardians may note that submission of false affidavit is a punishable offence;
(ii) The candidate will submit the final result of qualifying degree/certificate providing his/her eligibility on or before 30th September, 2013 to their Centre Director / Jt. Director where the admission has been granted.
(iii) In case the candidate fails to submit his/her final result of qualifying degree in the manner as prescribed at (ii) above to prove his/her eligibility on or before 30th September, 2013, whatsoever the reason may be, his/her admission will be treated as null and void (cancelled) and entire fee will be forfeited. Any exception will be as per decision of DG on a case to case basis.
(iv) The Centre Director / Jt. Director will be responsible to ensure that the eligibility of all students meet prescribed qualification for admission specially incase of provisional students. The provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled if the candidate fails to submit result in time i.e. 30th September, 2013.
(v) Those candidates who are seeking provisional admission due to non-declaration of their final year/final semester/12th class (please see Annexure -II) will provide proof of having passed all papers in all the previous years /semesters of qualifying degree examination (whichever relevant).
(vi) The candidates will also bring the datesheet /admit card/ principal's certificate as proof of having appeared in the qualifying exam.
(vii) Candidates who have appeared for compartment/ Supplementary examination(s) in the 12th standard or final semester/ final year of graduation and the result of the same is not declared by the time of counseling/ admission, such candidates will be considered for admission as per para 1 (b) (ii) above, for the academic session 2013-14.
2. Any candidate who has not appeared for the qualifying exam before the date of counselling/ admission to NIFT, will not be eligible.

3. It is further clarified that provisional admission will be considered only in such cases where the result of Final year/semester of the qualifying degree has not been declared by the concerned Board/University in its totality. In case the result has been declared by the concerned Board/ University but it has not been declared in a specific case, for any reason, such cases will NOT be considered under provisional admission category.
